FRA - Bokolo fires Gravelines to Semaines Des As glory

PAU (Semaine des As) – Yannick Bokolo has been a key man for France the past couple of summers in international competition, playing at EuroBasket 2009 in Poland and at last summer’s FIBA World Championship in Turkey.

He enjoyed one of his finest moments as a professional over the weekend by leading club side BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque to the Semaines des As title.

Bokolo finished with 23 points in Sunday’s final as Gravelines won 79-71 over Chalon/Saône.

Trailing 41-39 at half-time, Gravelines edged ahead into a 59-57 lead by the end of the third quarter and did enough in the fourth to prevail.

Bokolo said he and his team-mates were supremely confident at the break, despite being behind.

"At halftime, when they were up by two, it made me smile because it's easier to give everything when you're behind than in front,” he said.

"I knew we would give everything in the last quarter."

Gravelines will now turn their attention to Europe.

They are 3-0 in the EuroChallenge Last 16 and have a game at Norrkoping Dolphins in Sweden on Tuesday.
