SUVA - The AND1 MIXED TAPE TOUR will hit the shores of Fiji for the first time ever on Wednesday 7th December 2005!
This international sporting phenomenon featuring the best professional Streetball players in the USA will hit Fiji as part of their tour down under to Australia and New Zealand, after also touring Japan and the Philippines.
Leading The AND1 TEAM to Fiji will be Shane "The Dribbling Machine" and the AND1 Team's latest sensation, "The Air Up There"!
They will be supported by Sedale Threatt, ex-USA Olympic Basketballer and David Biwar a 6 feet 9 inches ex-LA Lakers point guard!
The AND1 MIXED TAPE SHOWDOWN will be staged at the FMF Dome in Suva at 6PM on Wednesday 7th December 2005.
Announcing the event in Suva today, Basketball Fiji president, Culden Kamea said, "The Showdown will feature the AND1 MIXED TAPE TEAM Showing off their unbelievable 3-on-3 Streetball games, incredible Slam Dunks and amazing 3-point Shooting skills against Fiji's best 3-on-3 Teams.
The AND1 MIXED TAPE SHOWDOWN will be a high-energy, high-profile sell-out event with loads of hit music, Cheerleaders and fun-filled spectator activities!"
"These guys are the Harlem Globetrotters of the new millennium and Fiji has never seen anything like it!"
He added, "The AND1 MIXED TAPE SHOWDOWN is being held during the first week of the school holidays with tickets priced at only $3 and $5 respectively so that it is affordable for the youth and families of Fiji".
The AND1 MIXED TAPE SHOWDOWN will also feature the Fiji Secondary Schools Under-18 Boys and Girls Teams after their return from competing at the Pan Pacific School Games in Australia!
