MUNICH (Germany) - The path to FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 is now set following the completion of the Qualifiers First Round Draw on Wednesday.
The 27 nations participating in the First Round of the Qualifiers learned their opponents for the initial phase of the journey to the next edition of Europe's flagship competition.
The draw was attended by FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak, with former Sweden international Farhiya Abdi and former Finland men's national team captain Shawn Huff assisting with the ceremony.
The groups for the First Round are as follows:
Group A: Bosnia and Herzegovina; Israel; Luxembourg; Ireland
Group B: Slovenia; Latvia; Netherlands; Estonia
Group C: Slovakia; Poland; Romania; Cyprus
Group D: Great Britain; Switzerland; Norway; Austria
Group E: Montenegro; Ukraine; Bulgaria; Azerbaijan
Group F: Greece; Croatia; Denmark; North Macedonia
Group G: Serbia; Portugal; Iceland
The First Round will be played across two windows in November 2025 and March 2026, with each window consisting of three gamedays. The winners and runners-up of each group, as well as the three best-ranked third-placed teams – 17 teams in total – will progress to the Second Round.
Automatically qualified for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 as co-hosts, Belgium, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden were placed together in Group H and will play their games throughout the whole Qualifiers campaign.
Meanwhile, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Türkiye will enter the Qualifiers from the Second Round, as they will compete in the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournaments in March 2026.
