    KAUNAS (2012 FIBA U17 World Championship) – Jahlil Okafor collected 17 points and 8 rebounds in leading the United States to the gold medal with a 95-62 victory over Australia, securing him the Most Valuable Player Award of the Tournament, presented by Tissot.
     
    Okafor finished the tournament with 13.6 points per game as well as 8.2 rebounds as the Americans’ second leading scorer and rebounder.

    The Chicago high school star center’s top game came against France when he had 21 points and 13 rebounds.

    Okafor was joined on the All-Tournament Team by fellow American Justise Winslow, who was Team USA’s leading rebounder and third-leading scorer.
     
    Australia guard Dante Exum also made it into the All-Tournament Five as his team's leading scorer and all-around star, helping them to a silver medal.

    Mario Hezonja from the bronze medal-winning Croatians was the other guard on the All-Tournament Team, while Argentina’s Gabriel Deck – the tournament’s top scorer – was the fifth member.

    The MVP and All-Tournament Team were voted by coaches of the 12 teams at the FIBA U17 World Championship as well as by selected media.
