MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Regional Office in the Americas has announced that the 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup will be held in the city of Irapuato, Mexico, from June 16 to 22. All tournament games will be played at the Inforum Irapuato, a venue that successfully hosted the Group Stage of the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup. A total of eight countries will compete in the FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup. The participants include the United States and Canada, representing North America; Mexico, Panama, and Puerto Rico, who reached the podium at the 2024 Centrobasket U15 Women’s Championship; and Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina, the top three finishers at the 2024 South American U15 Women’s Championship. The top four teams from the competition will qualify for the 2026 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup. The United States is the reigning champion in the category, having won four consecutive titles and seven of the previous eight editions of the tournament.
