    FIBA Study Centre and Partners exhibit at Cologne trade fair

    COLOGNE (2011 FSB) – For the eighth consecutive time the FIBA Study Centre will be among exhibitors at the FSB - the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities - held in Cologne, Germany from 26 to 28 October 2011.

    True to tradition, the FIBA Study Centre will feature a village of about 1,000 square meters, gathering more than 22 FIBA Study Centre partners from the sports/basketball equipment manufacturing industry.

    Among them, Aacer Flooring, Bodet S.A., Bona AB, Ceta SPA, Conti, Dalian Qiansen Sports Floors, Fox 40, Gared, Haro Sports, Jinling Sports, Merry Sports Flooring, Molten (FIBA sponsor and partner), Mondo (FIBA sponsor and partner), Prestige Sports Systems, Qiansen Sports Floors, Schelde Sports, Seicom Srl, Sport System SAS, Stramatel SAS, Sure Shot by Sport Grupa Ltd, Spalding, Swiss Timing Ltd and Tarkett Sports.

    These represent FIBA Study Centre product categories such as backstop units, scoreboards, floorings, maintenance products, basketballs, whistles and seating systems. A large part of this equipment will also be displayed in the centre of the FIBA Study Centre village, which will feature a basketball court.

    During the fair, several basketball games will be held in cooperation with the German Basketball Federation (DBB), including mini-basketball and wheelchair basketball games.

    The schedule of demonstration games, all played by the the Köln 99ers basketball club, will be as follows:

    Wednesday 26.10.2011: 10.30 – 11:30 (Men) & 14.30 – 15.30 (Women)
    Thursday 27.10.2011: 10.30 – 11.30 (Minis) & 14.30 – 15.30 (Wheelchair)
    Friday 28.10.2011: 10.30 – 11.30 (Minis)

    Several court activities are also planned, featuring among others daily shooting contests.

    The FSB, held bi-annually and featuring nearly 600 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, is among the biggest fairs of its kind, creating new business and networking opportunities for company industry professionals.

    The FIBA Study Centre and its partners invite everyone to join them at the 2011 FSB. The FIBA stand will be located in the Kölnmesse, Hall 11.1, in positions A-040- A-04141.

    The FIBA Study Centre

    The FIBA Study Centre was founded with the aim to help equip and increase the number of sports facilities throughout the world, to encourage the construction refurbishment of basketball facilities as well as co-ordinate research initiatives.

    The Study Centre edits publications such as the “Guide to Basketball Facilities”, the “Safety Standards” or the “Partners’ Guide for National Federations”.

    Study Centre Partners, whose products are tested and approved by FIBA, provide sport equipment in categories such as backboard support units, wooden floorings, synthetic floorings, electronic scoreboards, electronic systems, video systems, seating systems, basketballs and miscellaneous products linked to the needs of the game of basketball.
