FIBA Statement regarding the games between Colombia and Mexico for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers

    MIAMI (United States) - Due the current situation in Colombia following the devastating earthquakes and the logistical challenges it has created, FIBA, in consultation with the concerned National Federations, has decided to reverse the order of games between the two nations for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers Group E. The games will now take place as follows:

    Colombia vs. Mexico, originally scheduled to take place in Colombia on August 27, 2026, will be played on the same day in Zacatecas, Mexico, at 20:10 local time.

    Mexico vs. Colombia will be played on February 25, 2027, in Colombia (the exact location and tip-off time are TBC). FIBA extends its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected by this tragedy and stands in solidarity with the people of Colombia during this difficult time. FIBA
