GENEVA (Referee Education) - FIBA has released yesterday its new educational DVD "Guidelines for Referee Education - Volume 3".

A complimentary copy of the DVD was sent to all 213 member national federations of FIBA, to the FIBA Zones and to the members of the FIBA Central Board, the FIBA Technical Commission and to all FIBA International Referee Instructors.

The DVD is aimed at assisting the FIBA membership in the development of their basketball programmes and the education of the referees in each country.

In more than 120 minutes of video material that is divided into 10 sections, the DVD provides clear examples from the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan on how to correctly officiate basketball games. The narration is in English.

FIBA encourages its membership to copy the DVD and to distribute it to as many interested referees as possible, but also to clubs, coaches, players and other interested parties.

If anybody wishes to translate the voiceover of the DVD, the script of the voiceover can be downloaded from www.fiba.basketball/referee_downloads.
