Team Characteristics
Cohesive team with a good philosophy of how to play and win. Mix up defenses between man to man and zone. Difficult to defend in the half court due to high offensive IQ, hard cutting and lots of screening. Will make you play defense for long periods of time, patiently looking for a good shot. Solid rebounding effort defensively.
Offensive Tendencies
Have the ability to hurt you one on one with isolation inside and outside. Will run good half court motion also with lots of screening and cutting. When individual opportunity is present they will take advantage of it. Unselfish with the ball and share it well. Good shooting team including post who can pick and pop for open jump shots.
Transition
Can score on quick break or secondary break after ball reversal. Good shooters pull up for quick jump shots or shot fake and penetrate. If no quick shot, player and ball movement product quality shot.
Set Plays
1. Shooter works off single, double screens for shot.
2. Screen the screener action for shot.
3. Quick hand off and open shot.
4. Back screen, double screen, double screen.
5. Swing wings, on ball screen and fade for shot.
Out of Bounds
Plays are specifically run for shooters or posts after screening and rolling.
Defense Tendencies
Very opportunistic team and much transition comes from defensive plays. Do good job containing the ball and forcing tough shots. Block out and rebound well.
Zone Defense
2-3 zone that can exert pressure and extend up the floor. Also will full court zone press to slow down the offense.
