    RIGA (FIBA U19 World Championship) - With the deadline for accreditation set for Tuesday 31 May, media have less than one day left to submit their requests.

    All media wishing to attend the Championship - to be held between 31 June and 10 July in the cities of Liepaja, Valmiera and Riga - are required to fill in an on-line application form. The page is protected and can be accessed by entering the following password: LATVIA2011.

    This form is an application only and accordingly does not guarantee accreditation to the event.

    FIBA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) will inform all applicants of the success of their requests no later than 15 June 2011.

    Known until 2003 as the World Championship for Junior Men, the FIBA U19 World Championship for Men was first held in Brazil in 1979. This summer's Championship will be the 10th edition of the event.  Past editions have seen the participation of some of the biggest names in basketball, including the likes of Andrew Bogut, Linas Kleiza, Andrei Kirilenko, Pau Gasol, Vince Carter, Wang Zhizhi, Dejan Bodiroga, Steve Nash, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc and Arvydas Sabonis.

    We also remind interested media that the accreditation process for the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women in Chile is currently ongoing and will last until 18 June.
