Doha (FIBA) – Representatives from a number of FIBA Asia Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) travelled to Doha this week to take part in a FIBA Organizer Workshop hosted by the Qatar Basketball Federation.

The workshop introduced the FIBA Digital solutions FIBA Organizer and FIBA Live Stats, which are provided free to all federations and associations worldwide by FIBA and SportingPulse International.

FIBA Head of Technology Wolfram Klug and SportingPulse International experts Sam Fewster and Ben Turner presented the workshop to national basketball federation representatives from the Gulf countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

FIBA Asia and Qatar Basketball Federation President Sheikh Saud Bin Ali Al-Thani - a strong advocate for the use of the FIBA Digital tools throughout FIBA Asia - said: “We are proud to host the first FIBA Digital Workshop for the Gulf here in Qatar. The use of technology is very important to us as we continue to grow the game not only in the Gulf but throughout Asia.

“It was pleasing to host officials from five Gulf countries who can now help others in their federations to learn and introduce the FIBA Digital tools.

“As basketball continues to grow, it is important that we develop a database of participants that we can use to generate sponsorship and government support and communicate with members," he added.

"FIBA Digital is the perfect solution for this aim."
