PRAGUE (Czechia) - It was a troublesome Qualifiers campaign, and they left it late to secure their spot at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 main draw. But now that they are here, Czechia will enjoy that familiar feeling.
Back in 2015, they played the first phase of the competition in Riga, Latvia - the same location where they'll play in 2025 - and after a 3-2 Group Ptage record claimed a seventh-place finish, their best ever.
With their core players sticking together through clubs and the national team for the past decade, Czechia can already smell that familiar scent of Latvia's capital, ready for another run towards the Final Phase.

A true FIBA EuroBasket legend, Tomas Satoransky is set to play his fifth Final Round, having started his run back in 2013, getting 11.2 points and 4.2 assists per game in Slovenia.
His best ever campaign came in 2015, when he established himself as one of the best guards in Europe, scoring 14.1 points with 7.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game, propelling Czechia to the Quarter-Finals.
He will come into this event extra motivated after struggling with an injury at home three years ago, which held him to just five points per game, albeit with 11.0 assists across four games. If he's at 100 percent physically, expect another 15-5-5 stat line from the Czech point god.
History
Czechia's qualification for FIBA EuroBasket 2025 marks their 7th overall appearance in the continental showcase. They have long grown out of the shadows from their time competing under the Czechoslovakia flag.
After first competing as Czechia in 1993, the country reached the EuroBasket for the first time in 1999 and a second appearance followed in 2007. But they have now become regulars on the big stage with a fifth consecutive EuroBasket ticket.
They hosted one of the groups last time around, and managed to reach the Knockout Phase. However, with a lot of injury troubles, they ended their run in the Round of 16, losing 94-88 to Greece.
