    2011 World Championships

    Team Characteristics
Consistent team effort of both end of the floor. Offensively they have weapons to score all over the floor using their inside presence to their advantage. Can score in a multitude of ways with penetration being the key to productivity. Quickness defensively helps them close driving lanes and rotate from the weak side. Play with energy and purpose and are cohesive unit on the floor.

    Offensive Tendencies
Highly skilled with the ball in half and full court offense. All players possess ability to handle and pass with results. Good post play gives them focal point of half court offense. When ball comes from inside to outside, penetration and shot opportunities open up. Good perimeter shooting helps spread the defense.

    Transition
Transition baskets are a benefits of quickness and active hands on defense. Can transition quickly from defense to offense on turnover or missed shot and quick outlet. All players can advance ball on dribble or pass.

    Set Plays
    1.    Wing entry, UCLA screen and pop to catch pass, high/low action.
    2.    On ball screen for point guard, cross screen inside, double screen on weak side, slip.
    3.    Cutter swings from right wing to left, using post as flare screener for shot.

    Out of Bounds
Goal is to screen for point guard to get ball inbounds. Next is a series of screening action designed to free a shooter or post player inside.

    Defense Tendencies
As a whole, they play every play as hard as possible. Exert good ball pressure, close down driving lanes quickly, contest shots, and disrupt passing lanes. Rebound well on defensive glass with consistent block outs.
