FIBA ASIA WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP, SUMMER 2007

    TEAM CHARACTERISTICS
Despite having a size limitation this team makes the most of its potential. By using their quickness on
both ends of the floor they are very competitive. Defensively, they use ball pressure to force
turnovers to create transition opportunities. Work well as a team as witnessed by their passing and
unselfishness on offense. Quick to the basket and quick to shoot. Very effective cutting down the
lane expecting a pass. Despite the opponent this team designs a game plan to give them a chance
    to win.

    TRANSITION
This is an excellent jump shooting team in transition. The outlet and pass ahead to wings is executed
quickly. Wings are prepared to shoot on the catch. The ability sets up the ball fake and drive option
all the way to the rim. Cause problems for the defense because of the speed of their transition.

    OFFENSIVE TENDENCIES
Offense is dictated on quick, accurate passing. Players cut, pass and fill open spots on the floor with
good quickly. A lot of their action is along the three point line. On ball screens, hand-offs, On ball and
roll and weave action is executed on almost every possession. Perimeter players looking to hit the
open shot, throw in the post or penetrate. Shooting the open shot would be their choice. This
perimeter action opens up the lane for post feeds on the block.

    SET PLAYS
    1. Post Iso—Wing pass, cut opposite, high post flash to empty weak side.
    2. Two man game—Clear left side for two man game between guard and big. On ball and roll.
    3. Triangle Back Door play—Post flashes into elbow area on weak side as wing cuts back door.

    4. Back cut & Flare—On ball reversal, wing back cuts using two screens, then big sets flare screen
      for the wing player.
    OB PLAYS
OB plays are a run for a block to block cross screens for post or forming a 4 out 1 in alignment to
    isolate post.

    DEFENSIVE TENDENCIES
Basically a man to man team based on principles of team play. Good defense on the ball with help
away from the ball. Use quickness and ability to close gaps quickly as an asset. This is the key for
them and help overcome an occasional height disadvantage. Goals are to disrupt the defense with
pressure and quickness and make the offense shoot jump shots instead of penetrating plays to the
    basket.
