    KOREA
    FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIP, SUMMER 2007

    TEAM CHARACTERISTICS
This is a team that must make up for a size differential. Quick and smart on both ends. Pass
continuously in the half court until a desired shot is created. Will not take bad shots and use the
entire shot clock if needed. Use their post player well and spece the perimeter to give opportunity
togo inside/out. Use of shot fakes helps them to penetrate or bounce once and shoot. Together on
both ends of the floor, good chemistry. Team very much stayes with in it's roles as individuals and a
    team.

    TRANSITION
Transition speed and quickness with the ball make this team a threat on every break. Big post can
rebound and outlet quickly to any guard to get the ball up the floor. A jump shooting team in transition
rather than a penetrating team. They will drive and kick for open threes with good floor spacing and
shot-ready shooters. Favorite play it to execute a quick hand off at the end of transition just at the
three point line for an open shot.

    OFFENSIVE TENDENCIES
Adept at playing toward their strenghts offensively. Use each player in a way to maximize each
possession. Big post player is the anchor of this offense. Very few possessions exclude the post
toughing the ball at least once. Once in the post, cutting and spotting up allows for space in the post
and inside/out possibilities. Two shots have been developed for this team to use because of height
differential. One is the early lay-up that is very hard for shot blockers to get to. The drive and step
back fade is also a tool that perimeter players use to score over bigger defenders.

    SET PLAYS
    1. Starts with on ball screen for point guard. Screener cuts to ball side corner as post rolls off high
      post screen to the block.
    2. Weak side back screen, cutter to the ball side corner. Four players space up around perimeter,
      feed into the post.
    ZONE OFFENSE
4 out / 1 in with the post being the focus. Big body allows him to catch it in the post to score or
passback to perimeter. All are good passers and move the ball quickly. Good inside/out action with
the post's size allowing him to pass back out of the defense. Not much cutting in this zone offense,
    more passing and spacing.

    OB PLAYS
Box set signals a back screen on the weak side to opening at the basket. Screener uses double
screen to get open on the strong side wing or corner. Triangle set starts with back screen and screen
the screener action. Another triangle set signals the ball side post on the block to pop to corner,
catch and hand back to the in bounds passer for a shot.

    DEFENSIVE CHARACTERISTICS
Zone is a combination 3-2 and 2-3 set. They match-up with the offensive player in their area and
pressure him with the ball. Sometimes they will go with cutters, especially the opponent's best
offensive threat. At other times they let cutters go. Post stays home for shot blocking and rebounding
purposes. Zone is good because it minimizes the impact of size the offense may have. Communicate
well as guards and wings kick off players in the wing area. Play man also but are effective in this
    zone combination.
