FIBA Americas League – With teams now known, bid to host Final Four begins

SAN JUAN (2010/2011 FIBA Americas League) – The teams that will play in the Final Four of the FIBA Americas League are set after finishing Group F of the FIBA Americas League in Corrientes, Argentina.

Now the bidding process to host the finals can begin.
 
Halcones UV Xalapa (MEX) and Regatas Corrientes (ARG) were the two best teams in Group F that ended on Sunday in Corrientes, Argentina and join Halcones Rojos de Veracruz (MEX) and Capitanes de Arecibo (PUR) who qualified in Group E that was played in Veracruz.
 
By finishing the semi-final phase and knowing the four teams that qualified, the bidding process to host the Final Four has started.
 
The four teams that qualified already organized a group in this continental club competition. Halcones UV Xalapa organized Group B and Capitanes Group D, both in the first round and Halcones Rojos Group E and Regatas Group F in the second round.

The hosting will be determined with the highest financial bid since all of the groups were well organized and complied with all the requirements set by FIBA Americas. The bidding starts at $150,000 (USD).
 
FIBA Americas will announce the host of the Final Four this week after looking at the proposals sent by the interested teams.
 
There will be a new champion in the FIBA Americas League after Peñarol Mar del Plata and Uniceub/BRB were eliminated in the second round.

Peñarol won the 2007/2008 and 2009/2010 editions and Uniceub won the 2008/2009 tournament.
