FIBA Americas League reaches climax

MAR DEL PLATA (FIBA Americas League) - Argentinian side Peñarol Mar del Plata will look to make the most of having home court advantage when they host the three-day FIBA Americas League Final Four starting on Thursday 4th February.

Peñarol won the inaugural FIBA Americas League in 2007-08 and Brazilian side Universo BRB took the honours last season but they have failed to make it to the final four in the competition this time around, meaning that a new champion will be crowned on Saturday.

Peñarol face stiff competition from fellow Argentinian side Quimsa Santiago del Estero, Halcones UV Xalapa of Mexico - who lost out to Universo BRB last year - and Venezuela's Espartanos de Margarita.
