    SAN JUAN (2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women) – The 2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women Draw was held at the FIBA Americas offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The eight participating countries were divided into two groups of four teams each for the event that will be held from September 23-27 in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil.

    FIBA Americas Technical Director, Anibal Garcia, was the moderator during the draw and gave the group composition for the event that qualifies the best three teams for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women to be played in Czech Republic.

    Group Composition:

    Group A: Canada, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Brazil
    Group B: Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Cuba
