The announcement was made during a FIBA delegation visit to Cote d’Ivoire Ministry of Sports and Recreation early this week.

"We also want to say a big thank you to the Ivorian government for its ongoing commitment to the development of the game in Cote d'Ivoire and Africa."

On behalf of the Ivorian government, Cote d’Ivoire Minister of Sports and Recreation Danho Paulin said that "It is a great honour for Côte d'Ivoire to host the FIBA headquarters in Africa."

"I will do everything in my capacity to implement the commitments made by Côte d'Ivoire towards FIBA," he added.
