    FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016 Zone 5 qualifier set to tip off

    DAR ES SALAAM - (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016) - Following Friday night's draw, FIBA Africa Zone 5 qualifier is set to tip off at National Stadium in the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salam on Saturday.

    DAR ES SALAAM - (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2016) - Following Friday night's draw, FIBA Africa Zone 5 qualifier is set to tip off at National Stadium in the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salam on Saturday. 

    The showpiece, which serves as a qualifier for the FIBA Africa Champions Qualifiers (ACC) 2016, will run until 7 October.

    Hosts side Savio have been drawn in Group A along with National Engineering (South Sudan), debutants Patriots (Rwanda), UCU Canons (Uganda), and USIU from Kenya.

    Last year's Zone 5 finalists City Oilers (Uganda) have been pooled in Group B alongside 2012 regional champions Espoir (Rwanda), Ulinzi (Kenya), Citizen (South Sudan) as well as Tanzania's ABC.

    Oilers will open their Zone 5 quest taking on Ulinzi at 9:00am local time before Espoir take on ABC at 15:00.

    Later in the day, Savio will go up against National Engineering at 19:00.

    In Saturday's last action Patriots will square off UCU Canons at 21:00. Kenya's USIU also in Group A will rest on day 1 of the annual regional competition.

    In the meantime, Kenyan side USIU will rest on Day 1 of the annual regional competition.

    The winner of this tournament will automatically qualify for the 12-team ACC set for December in Cairo, Egypt.
