    FIBA 3x3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The FIBA 3x3 World Championships are the top national-team competition in 3x3 basketball. The players are selected by each national federation according to the FIBA Central Board-approved regulations where the 3x3 Federation Ranking is the main criteria to identify the qualified teams.

Men's and women's competitions are always held simultaneously and for the exact same number of teams at the World Championships. In addition to team competitions, individual contests are staged as well. Open World Championships take place every two years (in even years), while U18 World Championships are held on an annual basis. Olympic Tournaments are considered as World Championships (thus Youth Olympic Games are considered as U18 World Championships).

The 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Championships are staged in Moscow, Russia in June and 3x3 is played at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China from 16 to 28 August 2014.
