FAT 0080/10 (Dacic v/ Besiktas JK)

Following FIBA’s intervention, the club Besiktas JK honoured the FAT award and paid the adjudicated amounts to the player.

Summary of the case:
The Italian player Dubravka Dacic filed a claim against the Turkish club Besiktas JK for compensation for breach of contract and outstanding salaries. The player requested full payment of her salaries and bonuses for the 2009/2010 season, alleging that the Club had breached its obligations by not paying her salaries. In its answer, the club denied the above claims, submitting inter alia that the player had violated her contractual obligations and had unfairly terminated the contract. The Arbitrator decided to partially uphold the claim.
