    Following FIBA's intervention, the club Women Basketball Club “SPARTAK” St Petersburg honoured the FAT and CAS awards and paid the adjudicated amounts to the claimant.

    The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed the appeal of Women Basketball Club “SPARTAK” St Petersburg against the decision of FAT and confirmed the decision of FAT.

    Women Basketball Club “SPARTAK” St Petersburg filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland against the FAT award

    Summary of the case:
    A players' agency filed a claim against the Russian club WBC Spartak St. Petersburg for agent fees and late payment penalties in connection with the employment contracts of the players Natalia Zhedik, Ekaterina Burko and Svetlana Makhlina.

    Despite several invitations by the FAT, WBC Spartak St. Petersburg did not participate in the proceedings; however, the Club paid part of the requested amounts to the agency.

    Subsequently, the agency modified its request for relief. The Arbitrator decided to partially uphold the claim.
