In accordance with Article L.2.7.1 of the FIBA Internal Regulations, FIBA sanctioned Avellino BC with a monetary fine of EUR 15,000 for failing to honour the FAT award.

    Summary of the case:
The Greek player Evangelos Sakellariou and the player's agent Georgios Dimitropoulos filed a claim against the Italian club Società Sportiva Felice Scandone Spa. ("Avellino BC") for outstanding salaries, agent's fees and compensation for breach of contract.

The player requested full payment of his salaries for the entire 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons alleging that the club breached the contract by not paying his salaries.

Despite several invitations by the FAT, Avellino BC did not make any submissions.

Nevertheless, the Arbitrator proceeded with the arbitration and partially upheld the claim.
