MUNICH (Germany) - The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers are soon to be upon us to mark the start of the next cycle.
Here's a rundown on all you need to know:
What are the Qualifiers?
Designed to promote greater parity in qualification opportunities and ensure regular games for all national teams throughout the campaign, the new format will see action take place across four windows starting with November 2025 and culminating in February 2027.
A total of 38 national teams have registered to take part in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers, which will be split into two stages – First Round and Second Round, each played across two windows.
Who is playing in the First Round?
27 national teams will begin their qualification journey in the First Round, having been drawn into six groups of four teams and one group of three teams.
The teams participating in the First Round are as follows: Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine.
The winners and runners-up of each group, as well as the three best-ranked third-placed teams – 17 teams in total – will progress to the Second Round.
How many teams can qualify?
There are 12 spots available from the Qualifiers. The winners and runners-up of the six groups in the Second Round will qualify for the Final Round alongside the four co-hosts.
Belgium, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden are in a separate group (H) and will play in November 2025, November 2026 and February 2027 across both rounds.

When do the games take place?
In the first window, games are played on November 12, 13, 15, 16 and 18 with the teams in Groups A-F playing three games each, and the teams in Group G playing twice.
When is FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027?
The Final Round is scheduled to take place on June 16-27, 2027.
Antwerp, Belgium; Espoo, Finland; Vilnius, Lithuania and Stockholm, Sweden will be the host cities of the Group Phase with the Lithuanian capital also hosting the Final Phase.
Who are the reigning champions?
Belgium successfully defended their title from 2023 with a thrilling triumph over Spain in the Final of the 2025 edition in Athens, Greece.
