GRONINGEN (FIBA Europe Cup) - Donar Groningen captain Jason Dourisseau is one of the prominent FIBA Europe Cup players we asked to share their reflections on the past year and expectations for 2018.
Having spent the majority of his career in the club, the 34-year-old veteran has become the heart and soul of the Groningen side but has also showed he still has plenty to offer on the court as well.
Dourisseau is one of the few players to have competed in all three seasons of the FIBA Europe Cup and is averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game in the 2017-18 edition.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to York today. We had a blast. More importantly, every single kid got better. That’s what it’s all about! #GrowingTogether @CoachBarnes1 @JDSSClinics pic.twitter.com/tGts4OcKl9

If you had to single out the three most important moments or experiences of 2017 for you personally, which three would you choose?
Winning another Dutch championship was special. With it, we finished off the triple crown, winning the Dutch Super Cup, Dutch Cup, and Dutch championship. The third memory was my wedding in June. I had some family come from the States, and it was a special moment in my life.
What are your New Year's resolutions? Do you plan on making any binding decisions in your life in 2018?
I didn't really make any New Year's resolutions. I just want to keep building towards another championship with basketball, and try to be the best father and husband I can be.

How did you spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day? Is there a typical celebration, food or tradition that you have for that day?
I spent New Year's Eve with my family and my wife’s family. In the States, I would’ve been with my family too. There, I would've followed our tradition of eating black eyed peas for good luck, even though I hate them (laughs).
If you were told you get to fulfill one big dream or one big wish in 2018, what would you choose?
One big wish for me would be to sit courtside for a Cavs game and to finally get to see LeBron James play live. I haven't been able to do that because I've been in Europe for virtually his whole career. I want to witness that type of greatness live.
