KURSK (EuroLeague Women 2017) – Dynamo Kursk have confirmed why they will be one of the favourites to challenge for the EuroLeague Women 2017 title after revealing a star studded roster including teenage phenomenon Maria Vadeeva.
The center will make the move from Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje and make what will be an eagerly anticipated EuroLeague Women debut, as she looks to enhance a reputation as the most talented rising star of her generation - not only in Europe, but arguably anywhere in the world.
But, Vadeeva will have to work hard to improve her own high standards and continue her upward curve and development, since Dynamo Kursk head coach, Lucas Mondelo, will have an embarrassment of riches to work with.
While the club had already confirmed the likes of Les Bleus center Helena Ciak, Vadeeva will also have to compete for court time with star forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike who is back on board for another season. There are also spots for veteran Tatiana Vidmer and fellow Russian forward Anastasiia Logunova.
The other big arrival in addition to Vadeeva, is former Fenerbahce leader Angel McCoughtry who will make a return to the competition having played most recently with Mersin Buyuksehir.
The wing has an extensive track record in the competition and will be joined by fellow small forwards, Viktoria Medvedeva who lands from Energia Ivanovo and Veronika Dorosheva who comes via WBC Dynamo Moscow.
The club had already announced the acquisition of Anna Cruz and she will be the main playmaker with a familiar face alongside her, since Kursk have also raided Nadezhda for former Eurobasket Women MVP, Elena Kirillova who will bring firepower from the shooting guard spot.
Point guard Kseniia Levchenko is retained along with Epiphanny Prince, who offers an experienced combo option.
