RIGA (3x3 U18 Europe Cup Qualifiers 2017) - Italy's men and Spain's women won the 3x3 U18 Europe Cup Latvia Qualifier 2017 after defeating Spain and hosts Latvia respectively in Riga on August 6.

RIGA (3x3 U18 Europe Cup Qualifiers 2017) - Italy's men and Spain's women won the FIBA 3x3 U18 Europe Cup Latvia Qualifier 2017 after defeating Spain and hosts Latvia respectively in Riga on August 5-6 2017.

Italy won all their games in the men's competition. Not even a strong Spanish team - that defeated the U18 World Champions Belgium in the semi-finals - could stop MVP Vincenzo Provenzani in the final.

Spain's Unai Mendikote topped the scoring charts after scoring no less than 40 points in Riga and was followed by Ireland's James Beckond and Provenzani, who had 35 points and 33 points respectively.

In the women's category, Spain won the event for the second year in a row. It wasn't a walk in the park though as it took them a nail-biting 19-18 overtime win against the Latvian hosts to prevail.

Ligita Liga Golovko (Latvia) led all scorers with 37 points in 5 games. Noor Driessen (Netherlands) followed with 25 while Emma Eichmeyer (Germany) and Carla Flores (Spain) finished third with 23 points apiece.

In total, 11 teams secured a spot for the FIBA 3x3 U18 Europe Cup in Debrecen on September 1-3.

Men: Italy, Spain, Belgium, Romania, Ukraine & Serbia
Women: Spain, Latvia, Ukraine, Russia & the Netherlands
