SOPRON (Hungary) - Sopron Basket continued to fly high with their electric start to the EuroLeague Women Regular Season after they moved to 4-0 with their second win against Galatasaray in three days.
Completing the second part of a Group D double-header with a 70-58 victory to stay flawless, Sopron were always on the front foot as they condemned their opponents to an unwanted and uninspiring 0-2 start to the season.
Sopron always looked the most likely to take the win, not least when leading 27-21 late in the second-quarter, they subsequently increased their advantage by posting a 14-4 run either side of the half-time break. That gave them the cushion they needed to ride out the remainder of the game in relative comfort.
As usual, Gabby Williams was a standout performer for the Hungarian side, finishing the contest with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Meanwhile veteran guard Zsofia Fegyverneky continued to roll back the years with another nice contribution of 15 points, 5 assists and 4 boards.
The EuroLeague Women Regular Season resumes on Monday, January 18 when the second hub will get underway.
