ISTANBUL (EuroLeague Women) - A number of elite clubs around the continent are assembling their rosters for the 2016-17 season with Perfumerias Avenida and Wisla Can-Pack continuing to lead the way, while Turkish champions Fenerbahce are also now rolling.

The Istanbul powerhouse have re-signed the long-serving Birsel Vardarli Demirmen, who will once again orchestrate the plays as she has done for so many years with Fenerbahce. At the other end of the court, the club have added another Turkey national team player in the shape of 24-year-old center Esra Ural who moves from Agu Spor.

Fans at Pabellon Wurzburg are now beginning to chat on social media about the assembly of a potential dream team, after Perfumerias Avenida announced the return of Spanish national team forward Laura Gil, along with American guard Erica Wheeler.

Gil returns to the Salamanca having previously won EuroLeague Women with the club in 2011, prior to moving to Rivas Ecopolis, Burgos and also Cadi La Seu, where she has spent the last couple of seasons. Wheeler is currently competing with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA and has caught the eye with more than 27 minutes per game and a double-digit points return so far.

The duo arrive off the back of the likes of Jelena Milovanovic, Tijana Krivacevic, Angela Salvadores and Laura Quevdeo all signing, with Silvia Dominguez and Gabreila Marginean remaining on board.

Also in Spain, Spar CityLift Girona have inked Haley Peters of the San Antonio Silver Stars. The forward was the standout player with surprise package and Copa De La Reina winners CB Conquero last season. She will be joined by returning Noemi Jordana and also Portugal national team star, Sofia Da Silva who transfers from CD Zamarat.

Meanwhile Wisla Can-Pack have snapped up Romania national team star Claudia Pop and American guard Meighan Simmons. Pop will arrive in Krakow off the back of some excellent displays in Liga Femenina and also for her country during the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Qualifier windows where she has corralled 12.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Simmons was outstanding in the Italian League last year with Umbertide where she amassed more than 21 points per game. She also brings WNBA court time to the table as she is currently playing Stateside with the Atlanta Dream.
