ISTANBUL (Euroleague) – Fenerbahce Ulker threw a scare into undefeated Montespaschi Siena on Wednesday night but hardly anyone showed up to watch.

The Italian club, which has been cutting down the opposition this season like a scythe slicing wheat, prevailed 87-83 in Turkey with Terrell McIntyre pouring in a game-high 25 points.

Fenerbahce Ulker’s Turkey national team coach Bogdan Tanjevic, who will be hoping for big crowds next summer when the country hosts the 2010 FIBA World Championship, bemoaned the lack of spectators at the game with only 1,000 in attendance.

"If we had been able to get five or six more rebounds, or if we could have brought two or three thousand more fans into the gym, then we could have won the game,” Tanjevic said.

“It was really sad that we are still missing our fans to come and support us in the Abdi Ipekci Arena."

Montepaschi improved to 4-0 in Group A while Fenerbahce Ulker dropped to 2-2.

Cibona Zagreb won for the first time in the Euroleague this season, 64-52 at home against Zalgiris Kaunas, with Croatia’s Marko Tomas scoring 14 points.

Both sides are now 1-3 in Group A.

Regal Barcelona are also off to a perfect 4-0 start with Asvel Basket their latest victims.

Vincent Collet’s French outfit got 20 points and eight rebounds from national team center Ali Traore but suffered a 76-62 defeat at the Palau Blaugrana.

Asvel fell to 0-4 with the defeat.

In Group C, Caja Laboral improved to 3-1 in Group C with a 103-86 triumph at Maroussi (1-3) while CSKA Moscow ended their two-game losing streak in the Euroleague with a 79-69 home success against Union Olimpija (0-4).

In Group D, defending Euroleague champions Panathinaikos (3-1) prevailed 75-65 at Asseco Prokom (1-3) in Group D and Real Madrid improved to 3-1 with a 104-61 drubbing of Ewe Baskets Oldenburg (1-3) in Germany.

In Group B, Entente Orleanaise slipped to their fourth straight setback, falling 86-74 at home to Unicaja Malaga (4-0).
