MALAGA (Euroleague) - Unicaja Malaga breathed some life into their Euroleague campaign on Wednesday with a 72-67 victory over CKSA Moscow while Panathinaikos lost at Montepaschi Siena for their second defeat in the Top 16.

Malaga, who lost to Barcelona and Lottomatica Roma in their first two Group G games, got a game-high 20 points from Puerto Rico international center Daniel Santiago against CSKA – the team that beat them at the 2007 Final Four in Athens.

“They ran their offense through Daniel Santiago in the low post and it worked well, as we were not able to stop him,” CSKA Moscow coach Ettore Messina said.

Montepaschi claimed an 84-75 victory over Panathinaikos to improve to 3-0 in Group A.

Panathinaikos are going through a very sticky patch, having last lost at Efes Pilsen in their Top 16 opener before coming back from a large second-half deficit to edge Partizan Belgrade in Athens.

They were also beaten at Aris Thessaloniki on Sunday for their first defeat in the Greek top flight.

In Wednesday’s other game, Quintel Woods had 18 points and made the game-clinching two free throws near the end of overtime as Olympiacos won 86-84 at home over Zalgiris.

Olympiacos and Zalgiris are each 1-2 in Group F.
