EUROLEAGUE - Milano stay alive in race to Top 16

MILAN (Euroleague) - Armani Jeans Milano kept their hopes of reaching the Top 16 alive in the Euroleague with a 70-61 home win over Real Madrid.

The Italian club, along with Efes Pilsen and Partizan Belgrade - are all 4-5 in Group D heading into the final week.

Milano finished strong, outscoring the Spanish giants 21-8 over the last 10 minutes.

Italy international Marco Mordente had 23 points to lead the winners.

Unicaja Malaga scraped a 77-76 win at Cibona Zagreb to remain one game clear at the top of Group A.

Marcus Haislip had 14 points and Senegal international Boniface Ndong 13 for Unicaja.

Pini Gershon led Maccabi to a 96-83 home win over Olympiacos, the team that sacked him in the middle of last season.

Both sides are now 6-3 in Group A with Maccabi playing at Unicaja Malaga next week in their last game in the pool.

Fenerbahce Ulker stormed to a 90-70 victory at Union Olimpija to seal a place in the Top 16.

Omer Onan had 20 points for Fener, who clinched third place in Group C with their fifth win in nine games.

Montepaschi Siena moved into second place in Group B at 7-2 after beating Panathinaikos 82-77, who are now third at 6-3.

Zalgiris claimed a 105-94 win over SLUC Nancy to leave both sides at 2-7 in Group B.

Igor Rakocevic had 31 points for Tau Ceramica as they won 103-96 at Lottomatica Roma to win Group C.

Roma (6-3) had won the game between the two sides when they met in Vitoria earlier in group play.

Andre Hutson scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds for Roma, while Ibrahim Jaaber led the team in scoring with 20 points.

Nando Gentile, meanwhile, will lead Roma for the rest of the season after taking the reins following the resignation of Jasmin Repesa in December.

Roma are now 6-3.
