ATHENS (Euroleague) - Armani Jeans Milano and Partizan Belgrade won important games on the road to claim the third and fourth spots in Group D and advance to the Euroleague Top 16 while Efes Pilsen crashed to defeat at Real Madrid and failed to progress in the competition.

The Italians prevailed on the road at Panionios 87-77 with Italy international Luca Vitali pouring in 32 points.

Vitali was a scintillating seven of nine from long range as Armani Jeans won for the fifth time in 10 games and clinched third spot in the group due to +9 goal differential over Partizan (5-5).

Partizan upset Group D winners CSKA Moscow in Russia 66-63.

Petar Bozic buried a go-ahead three late in the fourth quarter and then stripped Trajan Langdon of the ball in the waning seconds before he was able to launch a potential game-tying three at the end.

Efes Pilsen saw their hopes die at Real, 80-69.

Felipe Reyes scored 16 points for the Spanish giants with Jeremiah Massey contributing 15 with 11 rebounds.

In other games, SLUC Nancy lost 103-79 at home to Montepaschi Siena, Panathinaikos romped to a 75-53 home triumph over Asseco Prokom and Regal FC Barcelona prevailed 90-68 over Zalgiris.
