BADALONA (Euroleague) - Alba Berlin won the Germany Bundesliga title in 2008 and now they look to be back on track in Europe as well after clinching a 79-75 victory at DKV Joventut.
Immanuel McElroy had 26 points for Alba, who beat DKV for the second time this season and moved closer to sealing a place in the Top 16.
Both sides are now 4-5, and because DKV have lost both of their games to Fenerbahce (4-4) and still have a game left against powerhouse Tau Ceramica, they have only a slim chance of progressing.
Alba will guarantee their spot in the next phase of the competition with a home victory over Union Olimpija next week.
Olimpija have won just once all season and they host Fener on Thursday night.
Barcelona secured first place in Group B with a 76-64 triumph at Asseco Prokom.
Turkey international Ersan Ilyasova wreaked havoc for Barca with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Barcelona are now 8-1.
CSKA Moscow rolled to a 74-55 triumph at Efes Pilsen with Trajan Langdon pouring in 27 points.
Ettore Messina’s men are in first place in Group D at 7-2.
Le Mans won for the first time, prevailing 92-88 at home over Air Avellino.
Partizan Belgrade are 4-5 in Group D after winning at the Pionir over Panionios, 80-57.
