Trio take last spots in the Quarter-Finals as holders Galatasaray crash out

MUNICH (Germany) - There was joy for three EuroCup Women clubs as they all booked their place in the Quarter-Finals of the competition, while the title defense of 2018 champions Galatasaray is over.

The holders were always up against it after losing on home soil last week by 14 points to BLMA and their French opponents finished the job in the return matchup.

While recent arrival Ana Dabovic did not line up, the services of the Serbian ace were not required as Helena Ciak put in a towering performance to pace a 70-57 victory. The French national team center amassed 20 points and 6 rebounds.

Cukurova Basketbol made no mistake as they managed to ease past Wisla CANPACK 86-78 having already won during the first leg  in Poland.

Alina Iagupova celebrated her team advancing and also signing to the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks by contributing 25 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Similarly, Lyon ASVEL Feminin were never likely to throw away the big advantage they accumulated in their opener against Tarbes GB and they sealed the deal by locking down their domestic rivals 65-44. Belgian playmaker Julie Allemand was unstoppable with 25 points, while Michelle Plouffe harvested 13 points and 11 boards.

The trio join Spar Citylift Girona who stamped their pass on Wednesday night - along with a quartet of teams who qualified via EuroLeague Women. Namely, Perfumerias Avenida, Famila Schio, Carolo Basket and Nadezhda.
