A clash of the much-loved club captains

Debora Carangelo and Isil Alben are big fans' favorites and such crucial players for their respective teams. The duo have a deep affinity with their clubs, with Carangelo spending six seasons at Venezia and Alben much of her illustrious career at Galatasaray. The guards will be expected to lead by example and are no strangers to doing just that. But, who will get the edge in this duel and how important will both of the captains be in this opening clash?

Coach Dusart says it will be Galatasaray

Like Galatasaray, playcaller Fred Dusart has been in both EuroLeague and EuroCup Women this season with ESBVA-LM. He has told FIBA.basketball: "Galatasaray should be the favorite team for this Final as Venezia haven't played EuroLeague Women teams and their home-court advantage in the second leg is not a big point after Galatasaray managed their second legs in Girona and Avenida so well. There is also experience in the Galatasaray side with players who have won titles before, such as Olivia Epoupa, Isil Alben, Jelena Dubljevic and Ewelina Kobryn for example. They have the coaching experience during big Finals on their side too and are physically stronger than Venezia."
