    EUROCUP – UNICS edge Hemofarm, Gottingen shock Aris with big comeback

    VRSAC (Eurocup) - All eight games in the Eurocup on Tuesday night were close, with UNICS Kazan, BG Gottingen and Benetton Treviso clinching valuable road victories.

    UNICS are 3-0 in Last 16 Group I after an 84-83 win at Hemofarm Stada in Vrsac, Serbia.

    Hemofarm got 22 points from Boris Savovic but his potential game-winning shot at the death was off target.

    Terrell Lyday drilled all five of his shots from long range for UNICS and finished with a game-high 28 points.

    Cedevita Zagreb beat visitors Gran Canaria in the other Group I clash, 114-110.

    Hemofarm, Gran Canaria and Cedevita are each 1-2.

    In Group J, Germans Gottingen (2-1) pulled off a stunning come-from-behind win at Aris (1-2).

    Trailing by 18 points, Gottingen scored 19 unanswered points to go on top 71-70 before walking off the floor with an 84-82 triumph.

    "I would like to congratulate my players for their performance because they played with passion, coming back from 18 points down," said Gottingen coach John Patrick, who led the club to the EuroChallenge title last season.

    "We are very happy with this victory."

    Mike Scott's 18 points led the Violets while Aris got 18 from Kostas Charalampidis.

    Ukrainians Budivelnik (2-1) won at home over Le Mans, 67-61.

    Galatasaray Crown Cafe got their first win in Group K, beating visitors CEZ Nymburk, 76-75.

    Joshua Shipp scored at the death for Galatasaray (1-2) and kept Nymburk (0-3) without a win in the pool.

    Pepsi Caserta (3-0) got 17 points from Ebi Ere and handed Asefa Estudiantes (2-1) their first loss in Group K with an 87-85 win.

    Albert Oliver's potential game-winning three-ball at the end for Estu was off target.

    In Group L, Benetton Treviso discovered earlier in the day they had been chosen to host the Eurocup Finals.

    Now the challenge for Jasmin Repesa's team is it make it that far in the competition.

    They won 83-75 at Panellinios, with Devin Smith pouring in 22 points against his former club.

    Smith, who led Panellinios (0-3) to the last four in the Eurocup one year ago, drilled five of eight shots from long range.

    "Last year, I played for Panellinios B.C and we got to the semi-finals of the Eurocup," Smith said.

    "I will not forget that season. I hope to succeed this year with Benetton."

    Torin Francis scored 29 points in defeat.

    Cajasol Sevilla are top of Group L at 3-0 after a 76-67 victory over visiting Alba Berlin (1-2).

    Paul Davis paced Cajasol with 17 points.
