NYMBURK (Eurocup) - Bizkaia Bilbao Basket have the upper hand in their Eurocup Quarter-Final tie with CEZ Nymburk after coming from behind in the fourth quarter to stun the Czech team in front of their own fans on Tuesday night.
Trailing 42-35 heading into the last period, Bilbao held Nymburk to just five points and pulled away for a 59-47 victory.
The Basque outfit will now attempt to finish off Muli Katzurin's team back in Spain next week.
Nymburk went into the contest on the back of their Czech Cup Final triumph over the weekend and had a dream 30 minutes but collapsed and must now regroup.
"In the fourth, Bilbao took over and never looked back," Katzurin said.
"We lost all the power that we had."
Jerome Moiso scored 11 points and both Chris Warren and Croatia international Marko Banic poured in 10 apiece.
Alex Hervelle, the Belgium international who joined earlier this year from Real Madrid, had eight points and 10 rebounds for Bilbao.
"Many people considered us to be a sure pick for the finals in Vitoria, but I think Nymburk has a good team considering they put teams like Red Star and Turk Telekom out of the competition," Bilbao coach Fotis Katsikaris said.
"I am leaving happy with the points difference from this game."
The first legs of the other Quarter-Finals will be played on Wednesday night, with Hapoel Jerusalem hosting Alba Berlin, Power Electronics Valencia visiting Aris and Gran Canaria 2014 travelling to Panellinios.
