CHERKASY (EuroCup) - Dexia Mons-Hainaut were beaten 76-72 at Cherkaski Mavpy in EuroCup Group B on Tuesday but will still advance to the EuroCup Quarter-Final Round.

With Ural Great, who lost 71-70 to Banvit (1-4), boasting four wins and just one defeat, Belgians Dexia (3-2) sealed their progression because of a +1 goal differential in their two games against Mavpy (2-3).

The tie-breaker would come into effect if Hainaut were to lose to Ural Great next week and Mavpy were to beat Banvit (1-4).

Martynas Andriukaitis scored a game-high 29 points for Mavpy in their win on Tuesday while Great Britain international Andrew Sullivan poured in 23.

Banvit finally broke into the Group B win column with Christopher Hill scoring 17 points and pulling down five rebounds.

Alexander Bashminov had a game-high 21 points and seven boards in defeat.

In Group A, Andrey Trushkin scored 22 points and Marque Perry 18 - 12 in the fourth quarter - as CSK-VVS Samara defeated previously unbeaten Tartu University Rock 77-65.

The triumph clinched a place in the EuroCup Quarter-Final Round for Samara.

Both Tartu and Samara are 4-1, but the former still lead Group A by virtue of a superior goal differential in their head-to-head meetings.

PAOK BC claimed their first win in Group A, 80-76 over Lappeenranta, to leave both sides 1-4.

Proteas EKA AEL, KK Zagreb and Olympia Basketball Club are all 3-2 in Group C heading into the final week.

Proteas edged Spartak St. Petersburg (1-4) 81-77 in Russia while Olympia claimed a thrilling 64-63 win over Zagreb.

In Group D, Barons improved to 4-1 and took over sole possession of first place with a 71-65 win over nearest challengers Khimik (3-2).

Demetrius Alexander scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds for Barons, who take on Cholet Basket next week while Khimik (3-2) will have to battle to stay alive in the competition when they take on third place Lokomotiv Rostov (2-3).

Lokomotiv won easily at home over Cholet, 84-64.
