There had been doubts about the ability of Petrovic to participate after she limped her way out of the EuroLeague Women Final Four in Ekaterinburg, but Serbia will be hoping the now former ZVVZ USK Prague star will be able to re-discover full form and fitness.
Dabovic is a reigning WNBA champion and will bring the noise in the backcourt – albeit without her usual partner in sister Milica who has retired.
The other absentees from Rio are the naturalized Danielle Page who has not been able to recover from a long-term injury, as well as Dajana Butulija.
Of the nine Rio returnees, there will be a strong role to play for Milovanovic who top-scored in Brazil.
There are also growing expectations when it comes to the growing influence and impact of the exciting Aleksandra Crvendakic, who will make a belated FIBA EuroBasket Women debut.
Of the handful of new faces, there is a notable opportunity for Maja Skoric, who had a phenomenal season in EuroCup Women with VBW CEKK Cegled
Serbia have been paired with France, Greece and Slovenia in Group C.
