    ISTANBUL (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Turkey gifted the home fans in Istanbul their first victory at the FIBA EuroBasket 2017, defeating Great Britain 84-70 behind the clinical shooting night of Melih Mahmotuglu.

    The 27-year-old Fenerbahce guard knocked down 7-of-11 shots from three-point range to lead the game in scoring with 24 points, Semih Erden added 19 points, while Cedi Osman had another strong game with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

    For Great Britain, Gabe Olaseni finished the evening with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds, with Andrew Lawrence also collecting 15 points and adding 5 assists.
