    Hungary set to commence build-up to EuroBasket campaign

    BUDAPEST (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Hungary will launch their preparations for FIBA EuroBasket 2017 on Wednesday in Kecskemet.

    BUDAPEST (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Hungary will launch their preparations for FIBA EuroBasket 2017 on Wednesday in Kecskemet.

    The Hungarians, who will start getting ready to face Group C opponents Spain, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Montenegro and hosts Romania, have 19 players in the Preliminary Squad.


    Adam Hanga is the Hungary national team captain

    Among them is Adam Hanga, although it's not known when, or even if, the national team captain will be available at all this summer since he is beginning his NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs later this year.

    Another player in the Hungary squad is David Vojvoda, the second-leading scorer in last summer's team at 19 points per game.

    Hungary's first two friendly games will be on July 26-27, in Kecskemet, against a Slovak Republic side that is warming up for FIBA Basketball World Cup European Pre-Qualifiers that are to be held in August.

    After several more days of training, Hungary will travel to Maribor for an international tournament that also features the Czech Republic, Hungary and hosts Slovenia.

    Following four more days of workouts in Kecskemet, Hungary will go to Kazan and play in an international tournament (August 11-13) with hosts Russia, Germany and Iceland.

    Another five-day camp will be followed by a trip to Szekesfehervar and friendly encounters with Iceland on August 19-20. Four more days of training back in Kecskemet will lead into yet another trip, this time to Warsaw, for a tournament with the Poles, Iran and Great Britain (August 24-26).

    Hungary will have two more days of training camp in Kecskemet before leaving for Cluj in neighboring Romania and the start of the FIBA EuroBasket.
