    LITHUANIA
    EUROBASKET 2007, MEN

    TEAM CHARACTERISTICS
    Good team overall because of active defense and attacking offense. Score from three areas equally;
transition, set plays and half court offense. On ball screens dictate scoring options on offense. Post
can catch inside on the block and score. Go to the offensive boards and create problems for the
defense. Much of their transition game comes from aggressive defense causing turnovers. Outside
shooting is a strength of this team as is the ability to penetrate and score. Balance on both ends of
    the floor make them competitive.

    TRANSITION
Versatile transition game with all players involved. Guards get a lot of defensive rebounds and push
the ball the length of the floor to make a play. Several players capable of scoring on the drive or the
shot. Point guard at times will hold his dribble until his teammates arrive, then will use an on ball
screen and create from there. Once the shot goes up, post crash the offensive glass and tip missed
    shots in.

    OFFENSIVE TENDENCIES
Well schooled offensive system. Based an a variety of components; hand backs, on ball screens,
baseline runner, baseline cutter & curl into lane, inside/out action, and penetration and pitch for
open shooters. Perimeter is solid and can create offense in many ways. Good balance of inside and
    outside attack.

    SET PLAYS
    1. Flex cut, shooter screens then is screened for.
    2. UCLA cut, staggered double on weak side, followed by double along baseline for point guard.

    3. Wing entry, point cuts as if to go off high post back screen, stops, steps back for a three.

    ZONE OFFENSE
Zone offense involves a lot of on ball screening. Post will screen the wings and point. One look is to
have weak side block player cut into high post and screen on the ball. The on ball is the focus of
zone offense and results in driving and shooting opportunities.

    OB PLAYS
Triangle set with screen the screener action and post slipping to the basket. Also use this play as a
decoy. Post on ball side quickly pops to sideline and hands off the the inbounds passer for three
pointer. From the sideline OB, they run a back screen, screen the screener action.

    DEFENSIVE CHARACTERISTICS
A variety of defensive stunts are part of their attack. In man to man or zone they will trap at any time.
In their 2-3 zone the trap the sideline and corner. Traps are physical especially in the corner and take
the opponents vision away. Man to man is aggressive on the ball causing many passing turnovers.
Posts front at times and get good help when the ball goes inside. Pick up full court man to man after
made free throws or on dead ball situation. Will run and jump attempting to trap in the backcourt.
