ETH - 2010 Olympic Solidarity Coaching Clinic reports

ADDIS ABEBA (Olympic Solidarity Technical course for coaches) – The Ethiopian Basketball Federation hosted the coaches’ technical course from 22nd November to 2nd December 2010 in Addis Abeba.

This clinic saw 40 motivated participants attentively follow Samy Labib Elsharony, the FIBA Expert, who has gathered plenty of experience in a basketball career as a player, coach and instructor.

He conducted the beginner-level courses which had as the main objective to develop specific skills and knowledge in order to improve coaching levels in the country.

The programme for this clinic consisted of different parts such as theoretical sessions with roundtable discussions as well as sessions focusing on practices and exercises on the court such as building fast break attack, or shooting, passing and dribbling drills.

Video sessions were also used to add to the clinic’s content by prodiding illustrative examples.
