MADRID (ACB) - Caja Laboral forward Fernando San Emeterio has been named as the ACB Player of the Year.
The Spain international finished ahead of Estudiantes forward Nik Caner-Medley and Jaycee Carroll of Gran Canaria in the voting.
San Emeterio, who made his Spain senior team debut last summer at the FIBA World Championship in Turkey, said: "I did not imagine this.
"I thought of only finishing as high as possible, but did not think I could achieve this trophy and now, I have it in my hands."
Brazil playmaker Marcelo Huertas, a team-mate of San Emeterio's at Caja Laboral, Carroll, Caner-Medley and Real Madrid's Ante Tomic were named to the ACB's Ideal Quintet while Fuenlabrada center Gustavo Ayon is the Revelation of the Year.
Ayon is the center for the Mexican national team.
Barcelona coach Xavier Pascual was named Coach of the Year, although many people are praising Svetislav Pesic for the incredible job he has done at Power Electronics Valencia.
Pascual guided Barcelona to a first-place finish in the ACB regular season while Pesic steered Valencia, a team he took over after a 1-7 start, to third.
