VITORIA (FIBA World Championship) - Fernando San Emeterio is targeting glory at the FIBA World Championship with Spain after a dream ACB season.

The 26-year-old swingman was on the Caja Laboral team that swept Barcelona 3-0 in the ACB play-offs, and his efforts earned him a call-up to Sergio Scariolo's squad.

He knows he faces a tough fight to be in the final 12 that go to Turkey, but San Emeterio is determined to give his all and cap a great year in style.

"It was a dream final for me," he said. "We have won a league title that nobody expected us to win. Now it would be good for me to go to the World Championship.

"I'm working hard for it, but it will be difficult because there are class players at every position and this team is the current world champion."

San Emeterio is the first to admit there is nothing flash about his game, but he believes he can be the 'glue man' that Scariolo's squad will need.

"I want to provide what the team needs," he said. "I am not a player who stands out, but I am complete and versatile, and that can be useful."

This weekend, Spain are in Caja Laboral's hometown of Vitoria to play Lithuania and Slovenia, and San Emeterio is excited to play in front of the fans.

"For me it's very nice to be able to wear the Spain jersey in my current home," he said.

"It will be good for all the Caja Laboral players as I am their representative."
