BARCELONA (Olympics) - Spanish superstar Juan Carlos Navarro has hit the sidelines for a month with a foot injury.

The Barcelona guard has plantar fasciitis in his left foot and isn't expected to return until the middle of January.

Navarro went down at the weekend in Barcelona's Liga Endesa game against Caja Laboral.

Spain will be counting heavily on the 31-year-old next summer at the London Games when 'La Bomba' competes in his fourth straight Olympics.

At the EuroBasket in Lithuania, Navarro averaged 18.7 points per game and poured in 27 in the title triumph over France.

He shot 44.7% (34 of 76) from long range.

Navarro has already led Barcelona into the Top 16 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.

He will be a spectator on Wednesday night when the club hosts Galatasaray.
