GIRONA (ACB) - What a strange week it's been in the life of the Gasol brothers.

One, Pau Gasol, an established force in the NBA, was traded at the weekend from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Los Angeles Lakers while the other, Akasvayu Girona center Marc Gasol, saw his draft rights traded from LA to Memphis in the same deal.

Drafted last summer by the Lakers, Marc Gasol could end up following his brother's footsteps in Tennessee.

"To be honest, I haven't thought about what could happen in my future, I only know that I must continue my journey and do the things well if I want to be there (in the NBA) one day," Marc said after learning of his brothers move.

"I knew that the Lakers were very interested in me but I spoke to the general manager who said that the Grizzlies had also put a lot of effort in getting my rights.

"I have lived two years in Memphis and it's a city that I like."

Indeed, when Pau first broke into the NBA with Memphis, Marc moved there with his parents.

"In any case, none of this takes my sleep away," Marc said.

"If the moment comes, we will evaluate everything. I don't consider myself a coin exchange, these things happen there. You are a professional and things change in a moment as it has been the case with Pau."

Marc is truly happy for his brother Pau, though.

"From what he explained to me, they called him to speak to the Grizzlies general manager and with his agent and in a matter of minutes, everything was done," Marc said.

"It's a fantastic thing for my brother. He has worked very hard for seven years in order to be in a team that could battle to win the NBA ring.

"To be with the Lakers, in Boston or Chicago is the maximum you can ask for in the NBA.

"It's to be a part of one of the historic teams in the competition and that's beautiful.

"My brother deserves it, he is a winner and has worked for that."
