MEMPHIS (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Spain's Marc Gasol played in the first 149 games of his NBA career but a neck injury has sidelined for the last two and could keep him out of action this weekend.

The seven-footer got hurt in Saturday's game against Denver when he collided with Nuggets big man Chris Andersen.

The 25-year-old has a slight tear in a muscle on the left side of the collarbone.

"Every time I try to stretch with my arm and reach, it hurts pretty bad," he said.

    "Hopefully, it's not (season-ending).

"It's a very painful thing, but we're going to see how it feels from day to day."

Grizz coach Lionel Hollins couldn't be happier with the play of Gasol in his second NBA campaign.

He is averaging 14.8 points and 9.5 rebounds.

"I'm not so sure that if this was a heated play-off battle or a play-off game, that he wouldn't play," Hollins said.

"But he's been banged up in this area two or three times this year. It's very sore and it's best that he not play."
